I love the idea of letters. The fact that someone would took the time to write something with his/her own hands so that you could stay in touch or simply know how the person was.. there's something beautiful about that. However, i must say that i hate waiting, so i would go mad waiting for replies. Imagine waiting for days and you still don't receive any reply. Then you start thinking that the letter might got lost in the mail, but wait, what if the other person didn't reply at all. Then you'll have this whole dilemma: to write again or not to write again.
Today I'm grateful for communication technologies. It makes goodbyes so much easier. You can be miles apart from a person but still talk 24/7. You can share good news, bad news, and even send a picture of something that reminds you of the other person. You can share your whole life by just clicking Send. We are about 8 billion people in the world and still, we manage to stay in touch with each other, and everything thanks to technology. We can know every detail of something that just happened 1 minute ago in the other side of the world. We can share our ideas with people we haven't even met yet. And of course, at 12 am on the 31st of December, we can talk to a machine that gets our voices to other people's machines and say "Happy new year!" What are you grateful for? Send.
